Root Werkin': Herbalism for Collective Care
with Samantha Magnolia
Root Werkin’ is an invitation into the ancestral art of rootwork and herbalism, teaching you how to turn your kitchen cabinet into your medicine cabinet while deepening your relationship with the natural world.
You’ll learn how to prepare simple, powerful remedies with everyday herbs and roots, while also listening for the plants that are calling you, the ones showing up again and again as allies on your journey. These plants don’t just tend to the body; they open pathways to esoteric knowledge, wisdom, and guidance.
What we’ll explore together:
- Foundational principles of rootwork and herbal medicine.
- Everyday herbs and roots you already have in your kitchen, and how to work with them.
- Practices for communing with plants, listening to their wisdom, and honoring them as teachers and guides.
- Tools and techniques to create your own home apothecary rooted in reverence, intention, and tradition.
Root Werkin’ is both practical and mystical: a session you’ll leave with tangible skills for holistic care and a deeper understanding of the plants who share our connection to both the ancestral and physical worlds.
A recording will be available for everyone who registers, so you can engage with the material and practice at your own pace again and again, and/or if you cannot attend live.
Root Werkin' is donation-based, on a name-your-price scale, with a minimum contribution of $15. If you have the capacity to offer more, we invite you to do so. Your contribution sustains the operations of the school, compensates the educators, and opens up access for folks in our community.
When you register for this workshop, you'll also receive access to Rootspace, our free  community space for continued learning, reflection, and connection with others walking the path of embodied healing and liberation.
